Follow the Sunset trail into one of the most natural scenic areas in Old California. The SESPE WILDERNESS is located between Santa Barbara and Ventura, in the LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST. See the beauty of our wilderness in a way which few have the opportunity.
We are dedicated to conduct our trips so others that follow us will find
the country unspoiled. Livestock is a natural part of the wilderness,
and when properly managed, enhances men and women's enjoyment of our
unmechanized wilderness areas. Today, just as it was when the entire
Southwest was mostly wilderness, the horse and the mule remain our companions
in wilderness travel.
Los Padres Outfitters is licensed to guide you and your friends or family
through Santa Barbara's spectacular backcountry -- the Los Padres National
Forest.
A typical trip is 3 days and 2 nights, and fully catered.
Enjoy delicious campfire dinners and experience the wonders of nature by horseback!
Don't have time for a multi-day trip? Spend a breathtaking half day or 2 hours horseback riding along the Pacific Ocean on our Beach Rides! These day trips are a great way to experience the beauty of the Pacific and take in a romantic sunset while on horseback.

A multi-day pack trip in the mountains of Los Padres National Forest
A beach ride along the beautiful Central Coast Pacific Ocean can be a
day, half day, or 2 hour excursion. Please call 805-331-5252 for rates. 
The California Mountain Spring Wagon is available for hire for your
wedding or next speical event. Please call 805-331-5252 for rates.
Los Padres Outfitters also provides all of the local mule packing support for the USFS.
Packing building materials for the trail crews and provisions for both The CREW and the CCC. This season due to the hard work of the Ojai Ranger District, The California Conservation Corps and THE CREW, The Historic Red Reef Trail is wide open and ready for years of recreational use and access to the Sespe River for all public to enjoy.
Los Padres Outfitters, not only uses their string of mules to serve the public on recreation pack trips throughout The Los Padres National Forest. They also hold the packing contracts for industrial packing for both San Lucia and Ojai Ranger Districts. Pack Support for the Sisquoc Trail Project via The Sierra Madre, Sweetwater Trail was also provided this season.
